Chief Executive and Director of Marketing: Malcolm Roughead OBE
A graduate in Modern Languages from the University of Glasgow in 1981, Malcolm joined VisitScotland in 2001 from Guinness World Records, where he held a number of senior marketing positions over a 17 year period in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North America. . Malcolm has been responsible for the repositioning of Scotland as a leading tourism destination. A Fellow of The Institute of Direct Marketing, he has been Chairman of The Marketing Society (Scotland) since 2007. In March 2004 Malcolm was awarded Scottish Marketer of the Year at the Scottish Marketing Awards. In the January 2006 Honours List he was awarded an OBE for services to Tourism. In September 2010 Malcolm was appointed Chief Executive of VisitScotland.
Director of Partnerships: Riddell Graham
Educated at Galashiels Academy and with a degree in Ecological Science from Edinburgh University, Riddell has worked in tourism for 28 years. He was Chief Executive of Scottish Borders Tourist Board from 1996-2005. Riddell previously held the positions of Assistant Director of Tourism and then Director of Tourism with Scottish Borders Tourist Board and prior to this he worked with Scottish Borders Council.
Chief Operating Officer - EventScotland: Paul Bush OBE
In August 2007 Paul was appointed Chief Operating Officer of EventScotland and is responsible for the delivery of Scotland's Major Events Strategy and managing relationships with a diverse range of public and private sector partners and international federations. Prior to this role Paul was Deputy Chief Executive of EventScotland. Before joining EventScotland, Paul held the following positions - Chef de Mission, Scottish Commonwealth Games Team; General Team Manager, Scottish Commonwealth Games Team; Chief Executive, Scottish Swimming; Team Manager, Great Britain Swimming Team; and Team Manager, England Swimming Team.
Head of Human Resources: David Anderson
David joined VisitScotland in 2007 after four years as an interim consultant around Europe. He spent the majority of his career with Motorola where he lived and worked around the world. His last corporate roles were as HR Director for Railtrack and Senior Vice-President with Worldcom Intl. He completed a research degree in cultural management whilst based in Hong Kong.
Director of Corporate Services: Ken Neilson
A graduate of Glasgow University, Ken is a chartered accountant with extensive experience as both a finance and general management director. He completed his CA training with KPMG before going on to work in a number of roles in organisations which were undergoing significant change through integration or either internal or external growth, including British Aerospace, Life Technologies & Serologicals Ltd. Ken is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (CA).
Director of Digital and Media: Robbie Parish
Robbie Parish joined VisitScotland in early 2010 from ScottishPower - Ibedrola Group where he held the position of Head of Ecommerce. He has extensive website build, design and online marketing expertise encompassing large system rollout, data management (CRM) to name a few. Robbie previously held a number of senior roles including Marketing Director for one of the UK's largest digital agencies, and other senior national and international marketing roles working with brands such as Easy Group, Bombardier Aerospace, Molson, The Mighty Ducks and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
